This webinar introduces a common use of the DAX function language – creating Measures. Measures are created and stored in a Power BI report’s data model. They are often created using an aggregate formula and can also apply a filter context. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how a measure can be created, used and organised.

• What is a Measure?
• Creating a Measure
• Testing the value in a Measure
• Using a Measure in a visual
• Using a Measure in another formula
• Organising Measures using the Model View

You will also learn what a Measure is and how it can be created within Power BI Desktop. We will create example Measures with and without filter context and then demonstrate how to test and use a Measure in a visual.
The webinar will also show how a Measure is both stored and accessed from anywhere within a data model. The webinar concludes using the Model View in Power BI Desktop to organise measures.

Target audience:

This Webinar is aimed at anyone who has started using DAX and who needs to gain an introduction to Measures within Power BI Desktop. It is assumed that attendees have used DAX formulas to create calculated columns.
